No appointments available: what to do

It’s the most common complaint among foreigners in Spain: you enter the appointment system and there are no slots available, at any office, for weeks.

Why are there no appointments?

  • A massive rise in demand for immigration procedures in recent years.
  • Bots and hoarders that book slots automatically.
  • Insufficient capacity at police stations and immigration offices.
  • A backlog of pending procedures from previous years.
  • An appointment system many users consider obsolete.

What you can do

  • Try at different times — very early morning or after midnight often see slots released.
  • Widen your search to nearby offices, not just the one closest to your home.
  • Check the system constantly — cancellations free up appointments at any time.
  • Consider a 24/7 monitoring service that alerts you on WhatsApp as soon as a slot appears.
