Appointment for Family Reunification

We handle both appointments this procedure needs: filing the application and the fingerprint appointment for the reunited family member, across Spain.

Family reunification is one of the procedures with the most steps: it is decided at the Immigration Office, continues with a visa at a consulate, and ends with a fingerprint appointment in Spain. We take care of the appointments, which is almost always where the bottleneck appears.

Service price

A fixed fee for managing the appointment. Nothing is charged in advance: payment is requested once the appointment is confirmed and you can verify it yourself.

Official administration fees are not included: they are paid directly to the state.

Which appointments do you handle exactly?

Filing the application at the Immigration Office, where your province requires it, and the fingerprint appointment for the reunited family member once they have entered Spain. Also the card collection appointment.

Do you process the reunification file?

No. We are not a law firm and we do not file applications or give legal advice. Our service is appointment management.

How much residence time do I need to sponsor?

At least one year of legal residence in Spain, and you must have applied for or been granted the renewal of your own authorisation. Long-term residents have more favourable conditions.

Can I request the appointment before I have the housing report?

You can book the filing appointment, but you should have the report ready by that date: without it the application may be incomplete.

Family reunification: what the office checks before approving

Family reunification is the national route for a foreign resident to bring relatives to Spain. It has two halves: an application filed in Spain by the sponsor, and a visa applied for by the relative at the Spanish consulate in their country.

Requirements on the sponsor

• At least one year of legal residence, with the authorisation renewed or the renewal applied for, for at least another year. Long-term residents are exempt from that wait.
• Sufficient and stable income, calculated on the IPREM according to the size of the family unit, with an additional amount for each further person.
• Adequate housing, evidenced by the housing report from the Autonomous Community or the town hall.
• Health cover: public healthcare or private insurance.

Which relatives

• Spouse or registered partner, where the relationship is not simulated.
• Children under 18, or adult children unable to provide for themselves.
• Relatives over 65 in the ascending line who are dependent, when there are reasons justifying the move.

The order of the steps

• Request the housing report first: it is normally the slowest piece.
• File the application at the Oficina de Extranjeria of your province.
• With a favourable decision, the relative applies for the visa at the consulate within the window given.
• They travel while the visa is valid, register at the town hall, and book the fingerprint appointment within one month of arrival.

After arrival

The reunited spouse and adult children may work, employed or self-employed, without a separate permit. The card still requires the fingerprint appointment and, later, a collection appointment: those two steps are what we handle.
